In a bid to upscale the knowledge of staff of the Ministry of Sports Development, the National Institute for Sports (NIS), has organised a three-day training workshop for the staff.
Speaking at the workshop which was held in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Director-General of NIS, Professor Olawale Moronkola, said the training underscored the importance attached to human capital development by the Ministry.
“We have a responsibility to keep upgrading our knowledge in a fast changing world. We must keep learning in order to remain relevant and productive in a dynamic changing world.
“The NIS has a strategic, important role to change the fortunes of sports in our country,” said Moronkola.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Tinuke Watti, who was represented by the Deputy Director Training, Dr. Kalu, while declaring the event opened, said the seminar came at a time when Nigerian Sports was under close scrutiny.
