Nisa Premier Hospital, Abuja, has explained that a brief fire outbreak at its gas plant was contained.

Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising from the gas plant area, sparking initial fears of a major disaster.

In a statement, the hospital attributed the development to the swift intervention of emergency responders, disclosing that no casualty was recorded.

“However, hospital management was quick to assure the public that all patients, staff, and visitors remained safe throughout the incident.”

“We sincerely appreciate the prompt and professional response of the combined fire teams who supported and assisted the Nisa HSE Unit and Emergency response team ( ERT) ,thus preventing the escalation of the fire.

“Personnel from the FCT Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, Julius Berger Fire Service, Bouygues Construction Nigeria and the Nisa Emergency Fire Response Team battled the flames with speed and professionalism, drawing commendation from the hospital and onlookers alike.”

The hospital management expressed relief and gratitude, saying it has already put in place a committed and dedicated effort to thoroughly investigate the cause of the incident.

The hospital added as at 12:00 noon, operations were fully back to normal, with patients receiving uninterrupted care.
