Nkwocha told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday after Nigeria’s Super Falcons defeated their Cameroonian counterparts 5-1 in the first semi-final game that her target was 15 goals.

She scored three goals in the match at the Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton, South Africa, to bring her total goals to 10 so far in the competition.

“Let us see what will happen in the final but 15 goals is my target,’’ she said.

In the final match, the Falcons are billed to meet the Equatorial Guineans who trounced their South African counterparts 3-1 in the other semi-final encounter played also on Thursday.

Nkwocha, who has won the Africa Best Player award twice, said she had dreamt of becoming the world best player also but age was not on her side to do so.

“Next year’s World Cup (in Germany) will probably be my last,’’ she said, noting that the awards she had received during her career excited her.

“I have one or two years more, then I am done with professional football,’’ the player said, but added that she would always be available to help young talents to grow.

Nkwocha said the Falcons, who qualified for the 2011 Female World Cup in Germany in 2011 by their victory over Cameroon, were set to lift the African trophy on Sunday.

She said the Falcons lost the cup in Equatorial Guinea two years ago to that country’s female team because of the bad pitch used for the competition.

In addition, some of the Falcons were participating in the U-19 tournament at that time, she noted.

Nkwocha said the current team was united and there was no stopping them in their bid to lift the trophy.

“We are ready for any team; we missed it last two years but will regain it this time,’’ she said.

Nkwocha said the 2011 World Cup was another “ball game’’ and the team would strategise to ensure that they did the nation proud and broke the team’s past records. (NAN)
