NLC disclosed its concerns during its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja where it urged the Anambra State government to improve the emoluments of civil servants.
President of the NLC Comrade Abdulwahed Omar who addressed the press after the meeting said the NLC is “particularly dismayed that a permanent secretary in the state civil service earns as low as N150, 000 per month.
Congress accordingly urges the Anambra State government to immediately work towards the improvement of the conditions of service of workers.
Omar warned that “in the event of failure of the government to act speedily act, it would be compelled to act in sympathy” with the workers in the state.
