The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) , Comrade Ayuba Waba, has donated the  sum of N1 million to the wife of late civil activist Chima Ubani, Mrs. Ochuwa Ubani
Ayuba,who promised to continue the kind gesture for the next five years, said that the fund would support the  tuition fee and other expenses of the children of Ubani, who died in a ghastly road accident on September 25, 2005, on the Postikum/Yobe highway while coordinating the Labour and Civil Society (LASCO) Coalition rally/protests against the incessant increase in the prices of petroleum products by the then Obasanjo-led administration.
He commended late Ubani for his impact in the labour struggle, adding that his effort would be documented and.
Meanwhile, members of the civil liberties organisations, who attended the meeting, urged NLC president, Comrade Ayuba Waba, to unite the NLC, saying that the division among its members would hinder development of the NLC.
