The Comrade Joe Ajaero faction of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) has issued seven days ultimatum to the Governor of Oyo State to reverse its Public Private Partnership(PPP) policy on education
Ajearo, in a statement at  the weekend,  said if the state government failed  its union’s ultimatum, it  would be forced to direct some of its affiliates to cut-off power supply to the state.
He also said the union would mobilise its members to stop supply of petroleum products while ensuring that the banks in the state do not function until the state governor complied  with its demands.
Ajearo wondered why the government of Abiola  Ajimobi was keen on imposing the education policy on the people of Oyo State who are vehemently opposing same on solid superior arguments.
He said the governor’s policies on education in the state no matter how well intentioned did not resonate with their mood and thinking especially during the current excruciating economic condition in the country .
He said it is very clear that the policy of the Oyo State government is directed against the poor; handover public property to their cronies, constrict access to essential public services and make it difficult for parents to pay fees for their children.
‘’The people of Oyo State have spoken loud and clear on this matter and if the only response that the governor could give is to order the arrest of labour leaders in the state and intimidate and harass the masses then that is very unfortunate and tragic. When a government turns against its own people then, we know that it has lost its moral and contractual grounds to continue governing effectively.
