The Kaduna State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has commended Governor Uba Sani for fostering industrial harmony and maintaining a productive relationship with the state’s workforce.

Chairman of the NLC in the state, Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman, made the commendation during the Workers’ Day celebration held at Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, on Thursday.

Suleiman praised Governor Sani for his open-mindedness and goodwill toward Kaduna workers, particularly the leadership of the two labour centres—NLC and TUC—as well as their affiliates.

He highlighted the governor’s sponsorship of labour leaders to a seven-day training workshop on “Sustainable Leadership Skills for Good Governance” at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Training Centre in Turin, Italy, held from April 15 to 22, 2025.

The NLC chairman also applauded the governor’s timely intervention in the industrial dispute involving the Kaduna State chapters of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) and the Senior Staff Association of Electricity Workers (SSAEW). The strike had left the North West states—Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara—without electricity after over 400 staff were disengaged by Kaduna Electric.

He further commended the governor for resolving the protracted crisis at the Kaduna State Water Corporation, where staff had gone unpaid for over 11 months.
