Protesters blocked the entrance of the power company, early morning chanting solidarity songs, whilst demanding decent treatment for workers and a halt to the ongoing workforce rationalization.
Soldiers and anti-riot police men couldn’t prevent the protesters from registering their anger at the management of the company.
Chairman of Lagos State NLC Comrade Idowu Adelakun expressed displeasure over anti-labor activities going on in the company, explaining that the congress will embark on large scale protests if the management of the company does not change its style.
“We are tired of paying for the service not rendered and the outrageous bills. We shall resist the enslavement of our members in the power sector. This is why we mobilized all workers to stop exploitation and persecution of workers in the power sector,” he said.
On his part, General Secretary of JAF Comrade Abiodun Aremu, said his group joined the protest in order to free the workers from the captivity of the power companies in the country
