The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to, in the spirit of palliative intervention; make refunds to state governments to make it possible for them to  pay outstanding salaries and pensions and  money owed contractors.
NLC president Ayuba Wabba in a statement  said  the federal government is indebted to many state governments over the maintenance of federal roads in their territories and that refunding the states  would  stimulate the economy in one way or the other.
Wabba said since Nigerians will now have to pay higher for goods and services and commodities without a commensurate rise in salaries, pensions or other earnings, government should devise palliative measures to cushion the harsh effects.
