The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, has called on state governors to emulate Kebbi State on how it has been paying salaries, gratuity and pension in the third week of every month.
While interacting with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi when he led a delegaton of NLC leadership on a fact-finding visit to the state, Ajaero said he was impressed with how the civil servants were being treated by the state government.
He said, “I called on other state governors to emulate Comrade Nasir Idris on his leadership style of bringing development to people and ensuring the welfare of the civil servants.”
He noted that though Kebbi received the least allocation from FAAC when juxtaposed with other states receiving higher allocations, its level of development was marvellous and commendable.
He also lauded the governor for employing 2,000 teachers, 4,000 health workers, and renovating and constructing schools at all levels.
He further said, “We have also verified the payment of scholarships to indigent students studying in various tertiary institutions.”
