The Nigerian Labour Congress President Comrade Ayuba Wabba has called on the Federal Government to thoroughly investigate and give public account of  the  Treasury Single Account (TSA) collection  agent who was reported to have gotten  1 percent  commission  to the tune of N25 billion.
He stated this at a public lecture with the theme “Good Governance with Special Focus on the National Assembly” organized by the NLC in Abuja on Thursday.
Wabba enjoined the federal government to publicly admit or dispel the news report to buttress its anti-corruption stance.
“If what the newspaper(s) reported  is true that the federal government contracted the agent which serves as the remitter agent to collect money into the Treasury Single Account have benefited to the tune of N25 billion, then I don’t think we are practicing what we are preaching,” said the NLC president.
He said that there was no justification for the federal government to contract revenue collection job to an agent, when there is federal government agency entrusted with such task.
“There is no federal government agency that will fail to remit its revenue to the federal government. So, therefore we don’t need an agency to do that work,” he added.
