It is indeed very appalling that a union that stands as a medium which citizens use to air their views to the government is not in unity. What this goes to prove is that our voice as citizens has been cut; hence we can’t speak when our rights are trampled on. So far, the strike embarked on by a fraction of the NLC has no effect, because banks, schools, airports and the Civil Service were fully functional. I remember when the fuel subsidy came up in the last regime and a strike was embarked on, it was like the whole nation was shut down. Where is occupy Nigeria today? We claim to be one but sincerely, ethnicity and religion divides us.
