NMA vows to fish out quack doctors in Nasarawa

Chairman, Nasarawa State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Dr Christopher Edeh has promised to flush out  the increasing number of quack doctors in Nasarawa State. 

Edeh stated this during the Ordinary General Meeting of the association where 15 committees were inaugurated including a committee to check the activities of quacks in the state.

“We have inaugurated 15 committees to address the various challenges in the profession, they will take up functions of every aspect, the building secretariat, the anti-quackery committee. I want to inform you that it has been established that quackery has the highest preference in Nasarawa State and we want to address that. We have put in place a committee that will join forces with the state government through the ministry of health to check the activities of quacks in the medical profession in the state,” he said.

He explained that the meeting also deliberately extensively on measures of managing Lassa fever in the state.

Dr Edeh noted that the association also discussed modalities on how to make doctors have adequate knowledge on research, data analysis and using available resources.
