According to a statement signed by Prince Tony Momoh, Trustee Chairman, Award Nominating Panel, and Yemi Akeju, Trustee/ Chief Administrator, the event which is aimed at celebrating media excellence in Nigeria has President Umaru Musa Ya’Adua as the grand patron, his vice, Gooodluck Jonathan as the special guest of honour, while the executive governor of Enugu state, Sullivan Chime will be the chief host.

The occasion which will be chaired by Hadji Alade Odunewu, NMMA Board of Trustees Chairman, also has the minister for Information and Communications, Professor Dora Akunyili as industry host.

The ceremony has enjoyed the support of governor of Abia state, Theodore Orji, Anambra state governor, Peter Obi, Ebonyi state governor, Martin Elechi, and Imo state governor, Ikedi Ohakim.

According to the official statement, admission to the ceremony is not open to the public, “it is  strictly by invitation.”
