Nneka’s debut album, ‘The Victim of Truth’earned her rave reviews from many critics and her style was compared to Lauryn Hills’. Her second album, ‘No Longer at Ease‘, addresses the issues affecting the Niger Delta where she is from. Using a fusion of hip-hop, reggae and soul as her message medium, she delivers a powerful message against injustice. Her third album, ‘Concrete Jungle ‘also been a huge success and cemented her firmly in the realm of artists to watch.

In 2009, she was nominated in three categories for the 2009 Channel O Music Video Awards and won an award for Best African Act in the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards. 2010 saw her win the award for Best Indigenous Artist in Nigeria at the 2010 Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA). The song ‘Africans‘earned her a reggae award in the Museke Online Africa Music Award 2010. If you listen closely to the EA Sports FIFA 2010 video game, you will hear her song ‘Kangpe‘in the background. Beyond Race Magazine listed her as one of the 50 Emerging Artists.

Often compared to Erykah Badu, Floetry, and Neneh Cherry (for those who can remember that far back), she nonetheless has created a unique style that showcases her diversity, talent, and creativity.
