Renowned Northern Cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi has declared that there is no dichotomy between Southern and Northern Muslims.

He spoke in Lagos during a visit to Nasrul Lahi – L- Fatih Society, (NASFAT) as part of the special programme marking the 57th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.

Sheikh Bauchi was at the headquarters branch of the society in Alausa, Lagos State last Sunday where he delivered a lecture.

According to a statement from NASFAT made available to Daily Trust on Wednesday, Sheikh Bauchi who spoke in both Hausa and Arabic languages, translated into English, said his visit to NASFAT in Lagos was an indication that there is no dichotomy between southern and northern Muslims.

The cleric therefore advised those present and the entire Ummah to further seek unity, love and collaboration with Muslims irrespective of their tribal or ethnic affinities.

Sheikh Bauchi commended NASFAT for using the platform to enhance the image of Islam within and outside the country while praying fervently for Nigeria’s unity, growth and development.

Acting Chief Missioner, NASFAT, Imam Mahroof Onike AbdulAzeez expressed the society’s appreciation to the erudite Islamic cleric for accepting NASFAT’s invitation.

He assured Sheikh Bauchi that NASFAT will continue to foster peace and unity among the Ummah and the entire Nigerians.

The highlight of the special event was the presentation of the society’s prayer book and other souvenirs to the highly revered Sheikh by the leadership of the society.
