The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Zana Akpagu, has insisted that students who have not paid their school fees and other school charges will not take part in the second semester examinations.
Addressing a group of some final year students on behalf of the VC, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof Uche Amalu, said the management took the tough stance after observing laxity towards fee payment.
Amalu told the students who had clustered round the gate leading to the Vice Chancellor’s block that they would not be admitted into the examination hall until definite steps towards payment of fees had been taken.
He said the management appreciated that some students came from humble backgrounds but that a long period of grace was given and many students were found to be nonchalant.
