A factional National Secretary of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Oginni Sunday Olaposi, and the spokesman of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi, have thrown their support behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, insisting that no forces can stop him in 2027.
They spoke in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday at the launch of the Southwest chapter of a campaign group “Emilokan 2027”, organised by the Coalition of Registered Political Parties’ Members (CORPAM).
Oginni, who is the National Coordinator of CORPAM, said the launch of “Emilokan 2027” is the celebration of the audacity of Tinubu’s courage when he made the famous declaration in the buildup to the 2023 presidential election.
He said Tinubu made the declaration when his ambition to become the President of Nigeria about three years ago was “hanging in the balance.”
Oginni said going by Tinubu’s performance in government so far, “it is very important for all well meaning Nigerians to join hands together for the successful 8 years tenure of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a greater and better Nigeria of Our dreams.”
He lampooned leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who described as the “real enemies of the masses.”
On his part, Arabambi said the leaders of ADC were part of the political class who created the current insecurity and economic changes facing the country, insisting that they lack the antidote to tackle the crisis.
“Tinubu’ll not step aside. He will spend that eight years conveniently in Aso Rock after which power can now go back to the North,” he said.
Also speaking, the former State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Ayo Olubori, described the current hardship in Nigeria as a necessity on the country’s way to the promiseland.
He also said a focused leader has to be hard and bullish to achieve his set goals for the nation, which in most cases, he said followers may not understand until they see results.
