The president said the past habit of selecting players without trials would no longer be tolerated in his administration as he vowed to give all boxers equal opportunity to prove themselves during trials.  He hinted that all boxers would be called upon to camp to prove their worth as he is ready to monitor the proceeding whenever they are in camp adding that this would provide ample opportunity of selecting the best boxers for the country.

“Before it was business as usual as they just invited certain numbers of boxers for camping without given opportunity to others but my tenure will not give room for  such bad practice  as all boxers will be treated fairly to justify their ratings and skills in representing the country in international events” he said

“At the last championship held in Abeokuta, we witnessed series of upsets as many boxers who were said to be national champions were defeated by relatively unknown boxers and this singular feat portends great chances for Nigeria towards our preparation at the Milan Boxing Championship later in the year” he stated.
