Immigration Service in Ghana has said it will automatically disqualify women with bleached skin, stretch marks and surgery cuts from its ongoing recruitment process.

Michael Amoako-Attah, the agency’s spokesman in an interview revealed that this was necessary to ensure the staff’s safety and wellbeing.

He added that men with dreadlocks will also be disqualified.

This development has however received backlash as responses on social media called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to intervene.

It was also recalled that other security agencies, such as the armed forces, have disqualified women for having what they considered to be big breasts and buttock.
