The Nigerian actress and producer, Funke Akindele has responded to a troll who advised her to remarry.
The actress, who recently launched her new film ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ has been constantly promoting the project on social media channels.
A troll came on Akindele’s X page and suggested she married because she is getting old.
“This year, try to remarry because you’re getting old,” the user said.
In response, the actress said, “OK, wedding planner.”
Akindele was once married to Nigerian singer, JJC Skillz.
The couple married in 2016 and welcomed twins in 2018.
However, JJC Skillz confirmed his divorce from Akindele in June 2022.
He wrote, ” Dear Friends and family, I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children,” he wrote.
Akindele has established herself as one of the prominent names in Nollywood.
In 2009, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’ for ‘Jenifa’, the movie which brought her to fame.
Last year, Akindele won the ‘Best Actress in A Comedy’ category for ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’ at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Akindele and her principal, Abdul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor, were defeated by the incumbent governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
On her Instagram page on Monday, the celebrated actress wrote, “It has been an amazing and insightful experience on my journey to the ballot, and I must say, it was an absolute learning curve for me. A lot of things have been learned and unlearned. I sincerely do not regret taking this huge step of running for office.
“I, therefore, want to thank the people of Lagos state for believing in me and supporting my decision to run for office. I saw every message of support online and offline, I heard of all the places where people supported me and challenged those who tried to discredit me.

“I also want to encourage all who mean well for the Nation and the state of Lagos not to give up. I understand that some of us are beginning to develop some sort of apathy toward the system, however, if we do not speak, we will never be heard. I’m glad that we could at least speak up.
“Thank you once again, Lagos, for showing your daughter support. As I consider my next moves in life, I will continue prioritizing the good of the people and the integrity of my position as an advocate for the people. Eko oni baje!”
Following the outcome of the election, the actress had deleted all posts relating to politics and the PDP from her Instagram page, which made some of her fans curious as to the motive of that decision.
