Late-night political meetings are among factors militating against women participation in politics, the 2015 presidential candidate of Kowa Party, Professor Remi Sonaiya, has said.

Speaking, yesterday, in Abuja at a high-level CSO/Government roundtable discussion on eliminating violence against women in Nigeria, she said it was irresponsible for anyone to shun family time to attend late-night political meetings.

She said she chose a small party, like Kowa because they were not into late-night political meetings.”

Sonaiya called on women who are in popular political parties to make a case against late-night political meetings.
