I welcome the decision of the Lagos State government to shut down churches and mosques who constitute a public nuisance by indiscriminate use of loudspeakers and public address systems. What would be particularly heartening is to hear other states across the nation follow suit. For long, Nigerian places of worship have held people to ransom with their nonchalant attitude when it comes to using sound equipment.
