Female candidates vying for positions on the platforms of the different political parties in the North have expressed their readiness to change the trend of governance in the country if elected.
The candidates, who lamented the absence of good governance in the region, said they are out to address the governance deficit in the respective constituencies if given the mandate to lead.
The candidates made the resolution in Jos, the Plateau State capital during a 2-day capacity building training organised by the Word Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC) in collaboration with the European Union.
Speaking at the training, Head of Abuja office, WARDC, Emmanuela Azu, said that based on their research, Nigerian women have all the requisite qualifications to favourable contest in any elective position, with their men counterparts, but things were still not as they should be.

She said funding and other cultural leaning and belief systems had continued to portray women in politics in a bad light.
