Northwest university promotes over 200 staff

The Governing Council of Northwest University Kano has approved the promotion of over 200 members of staff cutting across various sections of the institution.

A statement from the University, signed by its head of information, publication and public relations, Mallam Abdullahi Abba Hassan stated that Dr Mansur Ibrahim Mukhtar  was promoted to the rank of professor of history.

According to the statement, Mukhtar was the second to attain that position as product of the university.

Twenty four other academic staffs were also promoted to different ranks from assistant lecturers to associate professors.

The council also promoted 10 senior non-teaching staff to ranks such as a deputy registrar, a deputy bursar, a deputy director, a senior consultant physician and 5 assistant registrars respectively.

Other 88 senior non-teaching staffs, as well as 73 junior staffs were also promoted to various ranks.

The statement stated that the promotion took effect from 1st January, 2017.

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University Governing Council, Mallam Sule Yahaya Hamma congratulated the university management for the achievements and urged the staff to put in more effort for better services to the university.
