Badeh made the statement while receiving a delegation of NOSDRA management team in his office in Abuja, recently.
He promised to do everything possible to assist the agency in doing its work.
He said the effects of spilling were enormous, calling for a legislation to back the activities of the agency.
“We do appreciate the effort of the Federal Government and, of recent, of the National Assembly and we are ready to contribute to ensure that we do not have spills again,” he said.
He also advocated for a law to prescribe punishment for those responsible for oil spillage in the country.  
Earlier, the Chairman Board of NOSDRA Major Lancelot Anyanya said the visit was meant to explore ways of working with security operatives in curbing the menace of oil spills in the country.
While congratulating the Chief of Defense Staff on his appointment, he praised the effort of the security operatives in the fight against oil spillage in the country.
Similarly, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Usman Jibril commended the agency, calling on it to educate the people on the effects of oil spills in order to keep the environment safe.
“Our brothers who think by causing spills they will get compensation forget that once the spills get to the environment, the effects last for hundreds of years,” he said.
He added that the Navy has taken the issue of oil spillage seriously, adding it has acquired patrol boats from China.
Jibril, however, added that “for us to be able to do our job well, we need an outfit, so if you have any support to give us, we are ready to do our job.”
The Director General of NOSDRA, Sir Peter Idabor, said partnership with the Navy was vital due to its role in providing security to the maritime environment.
He added that oil spill endangers sea food, highlighting  the need to address the issue properly.
