It was obvious then that because he was going for his 2nd term, he didn’t give a damn about Arewa. But just 2 years after that, with the end of his tenure as governor is fast approaching, he wants to use the same Arewa to launch his bid for the presidency or shield himself from the antics of the current one.
In 2011 the Arewa that was clamouring for power shift to the north was upended by the activities of some people, including Sule Lamido, who insisted that Jonathan should be the one. This is the problem most Nigerian politicians have; when they are in trouble or in need they will invent devise many divisive issues like ethnicity and religion to divide the people, and this is mostly what causes violence in Nigeria.
I certainly support the shift of power to the north in 2015 but I don’t think Lamido has moral standing to be in this fight now, not after he helped Jonathan in 2011 to the detriment of the north and even against the candidates that Arewa supported.
