Basically, anyone can be a user of any social media platform with just a smartphone and internet connectivity. It helps connect to friends, relatives, helps us make new friends, among other merits, but it also comes with disadvantages-it could lead to  depression borne out of social isolation due to emotional dissatisfaction from non communication with friends and families in real life, addiction, unhealthy activities, sleep deprivation and anxiety.  Social media could be like honey, which is good for the body and mind but poisonous, causing harm,  depending on the user and usage.

Please, honour late Dr. Stella Adadevoh

Stella Adadevoh was a Nigerian doctor who helped to stop the spread of Ebola when a Liberian was found to have brought it into Nigeria, she paid the supreme price doing that as she also became an Ebola victim. Though in recognition of her effort, she has received several awards posthumously including the 2018 ECOWAS prize of excellence, she has not received any Nigerian national honour. I am of the view that Stella Adadevoh deserves a national honour as conferred on Nigerians who rendered meritorious service to the nation. This will not only mean giving honour to whom it is due but also encouraging others to emulate her.

The immunization against meningitis

The Federal Government last Saturday kicked off the campaign on Saturday to reach more than 28 million children. It is said that many Nigerians are at the risk of meningitis every year and immunization with the MenA vaccine could help to limit outbreaks. I would like to know why this campaign against meningitis is only targeted at children. Are adults not affected by meningitis, thus needing the immunization as well?

All hail Super Eagles

When other national football teams in the country including the Under-23, Under-17 and the women’s football team are recording disappointing performances, the Super Eagles appear to be rising to the challenge by winning their matches, their current form in the AFCON qualifiers attests. I therefore wish to express my appreciation to the team and their handlers especially the technical adviser, Rohr, for a job well done so far. I urge them to maintain their current form and remain undefeated in future matches. The NFF and sports ministry should try to renew the contract of Mr. Rohr and give him a free hand in doing his job in order to achieve better results.
