The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has lamented that nothing seemed to be working in the state under the present leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Alia, who encouraged the people of the state to remain hopeful despite their sufferings under the PDP administration, said when he is voted into power, the state would become great again.

He spoke at the IBB Square in Makurdi yesterday during the unveiling of Barrister Sam Ode as the party’s 2023 deputy governorship candidate and Pastor Frederick Ikyaan as its Gubernatorial Campaign Director General.

“Words are not sufficient to describe the deplorable state of Benue today,” he said.

“Nothing is working including the Civil Service; they are not paid, never promoted and new ones not hired; federal accrual every month never reaches them.”

Earlier, the State Chairman of APC, Comrade Austin Agada, pleaded with the party’s other governorship aspirants who dragged Alia to court over the outcome of their primary elections to allow peace reign.
