The cleric said death was inevitable, adding that Christians must always be prepared by living godly so that death would not come as a surprise.

He urged the late Edun’s family to be strengthened by his death and be united as well as do things for him to be happy beyond.

The priest urged them to learn the virtues the deceased left behind and use them to develop the society.

Uzoekwe, however, told Edun’s well-wishers to always pray to God for the forgiveness of his sins since Catholics believe that the dead with sin are in the purgatory.

According to him, purgatory is the first place a sinful demised person will report to, to be exorcised through God’s mercy and prayers of the living to eventually merit heaven.

Edun, 54, died on Oct. 23, 2010 in Lagos. He is survived by a wife and children. (NAN)
