In his remark at the occasion, Onajite Okoloko, the Group CEO of Notore Chemical Industries, formerly NAFCON, said they are committed to helping Nigeria and the African continent become self-reliant in food production.
He said they were in Jigawa to rejoice with Al-Yuma Ventures building the warehouse, adding that Notore is the only fertiliser plant in Sub-Saharan Africa producing Urea and blended NPK fertiliser products.
Okoloko said Notore operates an effective and world class supply chain structure with over 100 distribution partners reaching 1.8 million farmers across Nigeria.
Alhaji Ali Yusuf, the owner of Al-Yuma Ventures, said his desire to open the warehouse was borne out of the quest to provide farmers with affordable fertiliser.
The Jigawa State Commissioner for Agriculture Alhaji Rabiu Isa Taura said Jigawa is one of the frontline states that keyed into the new fertiliser distribution system(GES) introduced by the Federal Government, adding that the state government would expend N1.5 billion annually for the supply of agricultural inputs to farmers at subsidised rates.
