The Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Abdallah Uba Adamu, yesterday said the institution will implement vibrant learning styles that will provide students with supportive and employability skills.
The VC made the remarks during the 10th inaugural lecture of the university with the theme ‘the need to know and understand recreation, leisure and tourism practices in Nigeria’ delivered by Professor Abubakar Garba Suleiman. He said NOUN had moved from ‘evolutionary’ stage to ‘revolutionary’ stage, adding that “we are determined in moving NOUN to be a vibrant university comparable to any high-rating institution in the world.  We shall discharge our duties with renewed energy.”
He said inaugural lectures provide newly appointed professors with the opportunity to inform the university community and the public of their work to date and future plan. 
In his lecture, Prof. Suleiman said to ensure the growth and development of tourism, government has to publicize the nation’s tourism potentials while security agencies including customs and immigration services must discharge their duties promptly.
