The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) held a three-day international conference on public health.
The conference discussed public health service delivery in the country.
The theme of the conference was “Trending Issues in Public Health Service Delivery.” The conference was held in Abuja.
In his remark, the chairman local organising committee of the conference, Prof. Mba O. Okoronkwo, said the conference addressed wide range of issues concerning communicable and non-communicable diseases in the country and Africa.
He said Africans were suffering from diseases such hypertension, diabetes, cancer and others, adding that issued discussed at the conference would aid in finding lasting preventive measures.
In her welcome address, the Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr Jane Agbu, said the conference provided a unique opportunity for the participants to explore avenues for national and international exchange in public health teaching, research and community service.
