The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) yesterday said it will name and shame officials and study centers for poor service delivery.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu, made the remarks during the National Universities Commission Parastatal SERVICOM Committee Meeting in Abuja. He said a web portal will be created by the university in which students can assess the performance of every study center and interact with the vice chancellor. 

He said students could also file genuine complaints about poor conducts of officials and service delivery, adding that the list of officials and study centers found guilty of poor service delivery will be released. 

He said the move will facilitate speedy resolution of students grievances. 

He also said the service charter and complaint policy will be included in the website and urged the committee to spell out the standards of behaviour for complainants. 

Speaking on behalf of SERVICOM Committee, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemele, said government was the biggest service provider and that the institutions should strive to achieve the delivery of better public services. She said the standards of behaviour were stated in the service charter and complaint policy to be included in the university’s website.
