Now that Soludo’s father is found

Professor Charles Soludo, in the wake of his father’s kidnap, commented thus in the media: “why kidnap my old man for the sake of politics”?  He then was determined that no matter what, he would not be intimidated out of his pursuit to govern Anambra, come 2010. His remark made a school of thought suspect that Chief Chris Uba, Anambra’s acclaimed political godfather, might have had hand in the saga.

Chris was invited by the Police for interview. This situation made Chris Uba angry and then he warned Charles Soludo to stop playing tricks, aimed at attracting sympathy for his 2010 ambition. Chris asked him to bring out his father from where he had gone to hide him.

Another case which was similar to this and which remains resolved was the kidnap of Pa Edet, the father of the Speaker of Akwa Ibom House of Assembly. It was strongly believed that the Speaker hid his father somewhere, alleging that he was kidnapped. The suspicion to that effect became ripe when people noticed how he carried on as if his father was not in any danger. Till date, no word has been volunteered by him or any other authority as to how the saga was resolved. People are still asking to know the truth about what transpired.

With Pa Soludo out of captivity and was barred by family members from reliving his experience, many are yearning to know actually what the truth was. According to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ogbonna Onovo, arrests were made of some suspects, but with conflicting reports in the media that one of those persons arrested claimed to be a deputy director in Soludo’s campaign organization. The organization was quick to denounce him.

No one wants to tell the truth and the public is eager to know what actually happened.
