Shooting Stars of Ibadan (3SC) have earned their first win of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League season following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Katsina United.
In the 62nd minute, Wasiu Alalade scored what was to be the only goal of the game as 3SC earned all three points at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
Abia Warriors started their game against Kwara United in the best possible way as Godwin Obaje opened the scoring in the very first minute of the game but were unable to build on the early lead.
Kwara United pressed on and their efforts were duly rewarded through Ademola Adebambo who scored in the 85th minute as the game ended 1-1.
Former champions, Lobi Stars, have dropped to 13th position after losing 3-0 away to Gombe United who were also securing their own first win of the season.
Yusuf Abdulazeez scored the first goal in the 52nd minute after latching onto a rebound to score from Ibrahim Jimoh’s corner kick.
Six minutes later, Endurance Ebedebiri headed into his own net from Ismail Bello’s well-taken free-kick to extend Gombe lead.
Abdulazeez completed the rout as he scored his brace in the 74th minute to condemn Lobi to their first loss of the season.
Following the conclusion of matchday 4, Remo Stars top the table with 8 points while Rivers United are second also with 8 points. Enugu Rangers are second with 7 points.
Heartland, Katsina United, MFM FC and Shooting Stars occupy the 17th, 18th , 19th and 20th position respectively on the table.
