Following the failure of the League Management Company (LMC) to announce the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League season, some clubs have stormed Lagos to participate in the maiden edition of Ottasolo Pre-season Tournament 2021.

It will be noted the 2020/21 season which was won by Akwa United ended three months ago without a commencement date for the new season in view from LMC.

Eight NPFL clubs such as Lobi Stars, Kwara United, Sunshine Stars, MFM, Shooting Stars, Niger Tornadoes, Remo Stars, Abia Warriors, with lower division Smart City and host Ottasolo complete the list of ten clubs invited for the tournament.

The tournament is billed to kick-off today and climax on November, 7 2021 at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

According to the Coordinator of the Tournament, Kola Daniel the event is meant to prepare teams for the 2021/2022 season.

He said the competition is aimed at helping to prepare them adequately for the new campaign and give them the opportunity to assess all their new recruits.

“We are good to go as far as organising this competition is concerned. Lagos is in good shape and the good people of Agege await with excitement the top clubs,

“Fans should be ready for good football at the Soccer Temple in this preseason competition. The invited teams all have quality players and with the conducive environment that Agege offers, this is a fantastic opportunity for good football,” he said.

The tournament is sponsored by Mr Gabriel Davies, the Proprietor of Ottasolo International Football Club, a team that will participate in the Nigeria National League next season.
