Nigeria Premier Football League side, Kano Pillars FC have unveiled Abdu Maikaba as the team’s Technical Adviser to steer the affairs of the club for the 2023-2024 season.
The management of the club made the announcement on Monday after extensive deliberation and considering several outstanding candidates at the Office of Kano State deputy governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
According to the club’s management led by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Babangida Little, the team returns to the top flight after one season in the lower tier league aiming to reclaim their past position as one of the top contenders in the Nigerian Premier Football League.
Plateau United, Enugu Rangers and Akwa United among some of the top clubs that once employed the services of the former Physics teacher turned football coach.
Speaking shortly after the unveiling, Kano State deputy governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo reiterated the government’s commitment to give more attention and support to the club while also tasked the players and the new Sheriff to hit the ground running.
Kano born Maikaba brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in football coaching.
For the fans, the atmosphere following the announcement was electrifying as they celebrated a home grown coach who takes charge of affairs of the club while a new era begins for Abdu Maikaba as the team resumes preparation for the forthcoming NPL season.
