The trio of Akwa United, Bayelsa United and Bendel Insurance will aim for their first victory in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season against opponents in today’s rescheduled week three fixtures.
In Aba, Enyimba who suffered a humbling 0-2 loss at Rivers United in week four will welcome Akwa United as they seek to bounce back from the mishap in Port-Harcourt.
Last weekend, Enyimba’s opponents lost 1-2 at home to Sunshine Stars and are yet to taste victory having drawn two matches against Lobi Stars in Lafia and Abia Warriors at home in week one and two respectively.
Title holders, Enugu Rangers who are still fuming over their defeat to Remo Stars last weekend are up against Bayelsa United, another club that is without victory since the start of the season.
While Rangers have won one away match after the opening day draw at home against El-Kanemi Warriors, Bayelsa United in 15th position have drawn two and lost one match.
In Benin City, Bendel Insurance will also go for their first victory of the season as they welcome unbeaten 3SC to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
3SC have won one and drawn two matches to occupy the 8th position on the table with five points while their hosts are already facing relegation worries after two draws and one loss to Katsina United.
While the matches involving Enyimba and Rangers were rescheduled due to their continental engagements, the tie between Bendel Insurance and 3SC was shifted because of the recently held gubernatorial election in Edo State.
