The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has announced that Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, and Nasarawa United forward, Anas Yusuf, will be honoured for their remarkable achievements during the 2024/25 season.
Ogunmodede guided Remo Stars to their historic first-ever league title, while Anas emerged as the league’s top scorer with 18 goals. Both men will be formally recognised at an award ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, in Abuja.
NPFL Chairman, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, confirmed the new date and explained that the initiative is in line with the league board’s policy of rewarding excellence. “It has been our policy to encourage players, coaches, and the entire team to elevate the quality of our league football through outstanding performances,” he said.
He further noted the consistency of the awards system: “We have consistently rewarded our best club richly and the highest goal scorers and best performing coach in conjunction with our investment partner, GTI Assets Management.”
According to Elegbeleye, each recipient will receive a commemorative plaque alongside a cash prize of ₦1.5 million.
The ceremony was initially delayed due to the involvement of both Ogunmodede and Anas with the CHAN Eagles in preparations and competition. With their return, the NPFL is set to celebrate their feats as part of efforts to inspire higher standards in domestic football.
