NPFL transfer window opens Saturday, to close September 1

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) has announced that the first transfer window in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will open on Saturday, July 1 and close on September 1.

Therefore, the league organisers have reminded clubs in the NPFL to immediately commence Club Licensing processes for the 2023/24 season which has been scheduled to commence on the weekend of August 26 -27.

Following the submission of the season’s report by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), clubs that qualified for the CAF Club competitions were invited to commence their procedures with the NFF in line with CAF Club Licensing Regulations 2022.

The IMC also advised all participating clubs to take advantage of early completion of the process, as it warned that only clubs that have been licensed would be registered for the new season.

A memo by the IMC Head of Operations, Davidson Owumi informed the clubs to contact the NFF Licensing Managers, Mr. Nasiru Jibril and Queen U Otarakpo for further information on the club licensing procedure.

The Clubs that qualified to represent Nigeria in CAF Club competitions are Enyimba International and Remo Stars for the CAF Champions League while Rivers United and Bendel Insurance will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The 2023-2024 NPFL season will revert to the normal season after the league organisers adopted the abridged format in 2023 to keep to the CAF deadline.
