What is the secret behind your goal scoring exploit with Gombe United?

Babadidi: Nothing other than hard work and the good work done on me by my coaches as well as the support from my team mates.

What other teams have you played for before you joined Gombe United?

I played for Flash Flamingo, an amateur team in Gombe.

When did you join Gombe United?

I joined Gombe last season but was not a regular then and I scored four goals.

You have scored nine goals so far. How do you feel?

I have scored 10 goals and not nine goals. Alhamdulilahi (thank God) on my performance and that is just the beginning. People will see more of me as the league goes on.

Your team will host league leaders Rangers Wednesday, how are you looking forward to this match?

It will be a tough match no doubt, but I am very sure we will win by a wide margin and something tells me I will score a hat-trick against Rangers on Wednesday. We are ready.

How many goals do you wish to score this term?

I want to score 30 goals to set new record in NPL. I am sure I can do it, though it won’t be easy but Allah will make it easy for me and I will work hard to achieve my goal.

Apart from setting new goals record, what are your other targets?

I want to win the league and Federation Cup with Gombe United after which I will go and show the world what I can do in the UEFA Champions League.

Who is your role model?

That is my strike partner, Sanusi Sani. He is a very good striker and has been motivating me. He has experience and I have learnt from.

Is any member of your family into football?

Yes, my older brother Babayaro Babadidi played for Black Leopard, an amateur side in Gombe, but he is not playing anymore.

Which club do you dream of playing for in Europe?

Real Madrid. I am a fan of Real Madrid. I will be on top of the world to wear the team’s shirt and play at Bernabeu.

It was learnt that you will soon jet out of Nigeria to go and sign for VVV Venlo, how true is this?

A lot of agents have called me but I am taking my time. I don’t want anything to distract and derail my plans. I am just 16 and have a lot of years ahead of me in my career, so no need to rush.

How easy was it for you to be a first-team player at Gombe in your second season after being on the fringes last season?

I resolved within me that I have to be a regular player this season. I trained very hard and did everything the coach wanted me to do. I was given my chance in the pre-season and that was it.
