The National Sports Commission (NSC) has entered into a strategic partnership with Dicon Gray Insignia Nigeria Limited (DGI) to upgrade, build, and manage the Nigeria Shooting Federation’s shooting range to international standards.

The event was held at the Shooting Complex, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Representing the NSC, Dr. Mohammed Rabiu, explained that the facility had suffered years of neglect due to limited resources but would now be transformed through deliberate leadership efforts.

He acknowledged the groundwork laid by the former President of the Nigeria Shooting Federation, Gen. Lonsdale Oladeji Adeoye (Rtd.), noting that while much had been envisioned earlier, timing played a role.

“We say that man proposes, God disposes,” Dr. Rabiu stated, adding that the present collaboration reflects earlier ideas championed by the former federation leadership.

Dr. Rabiu further noted that the NSC is repositioning itself as an economically viable institution by leveraging

private-sector partnerships.
“The government has included us amongst those generating revenue, rather than being a social agency,” he said.
Earlier, the CEO and Managing Director of Dicon Gray Insignia Nigeria Limited, Mr. Bem Ibrahim Garba, described the partnership as a culmination of years of preparation.

“Our journey has included designing shooting ranges and developing various projects. However, our aspiration to contribute to shooting sports had not materialised until now.”

He assured stakeholders of DGI’s full commitment: “We will not hold back on expenses.”
