The Coordinator, NSC North Central Zone 2, Alhaji Bode Durotoye, disclosed this in Ilorin while speaking at the annual get-together organised by the NSC staff.
Durotoye, who highlighted some of the tournaments organised this year by the zone, said the zone would host three major competitions in 2014.
The competitions, he said, include Under-15 squash, karate and golf.
The zonal coordinator called for more support and assistance from the people of the zone to ensure a successful sporting year.
He commended all stakeholders, especially the Kwara, Kogi and Niger State governments, for their support and encouragement in sports in the zone.
The Kwara Director of Sports, Mr Tunde Kazeem, commended the Sports Minister, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, for adding value to youth development in the country, especially in the hosting of the Youth Games in Abuja.
Kazeem called for the support of all stakeholders, saying that various competitions had been lined up next year.(NAN)
