Suspects paraded by NSCDC officials for alleged illicit drugs possession in Kaduna yesterday

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna State Command has arrested three suspected dealers of illicit drugs in the state.

The suspected gave their names as; Shafiyu lawal, 28, Zaharadden Yakubu and Aminu Isa, both 25 years of age.

Parading the suspected dealers, Kaduna State Commandant of the corps, Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma, said the suspects would be handed over to the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.

He expressed concern over the menace of drug abuse in the state, saying despite the efforts by security agencies some saboteurs still indulge in the act.

“They were arrested by members of the joint taskforce ‎on September 22, 2019 and handed over to the corps with exhibits such as tramadol, axzol 5 valinex 5I and Diazapam. Investigation has revealed that they have been indulging in the act for over four years,” he said.

He added that the offence for which the suspects were arrested violates Section 268 of the Penal Code.

Earlier, the commandant sought the support of the media in the fight against crimes.
