NSCDC arrests 4 suspected motorcycle thieves in Kano

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) attached to Kano State Command have arrested four suspected motorcycle thieves along Ahmad Musa Road, Hotoro GRA, and Medile Quarters in Tarauni and Kumbotso Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The suspects were identified as Abubakar Abubakar (30), Abdullahi Abdulhamid (45), Muktar Abubakar (20), as well as Abdulwahab Muhammad (20).

Abubakar and Muhammad are residents of Sheka Danfodio in Kumbotso Local Government Area (LGA).

The command, in a statement, said the suspects arrested at Hotoro GRA had successfully unlocked the bike and put it into motion when good Samaritans intercepted them.

It said NSCDC personnel were alerted, after which the suspects were arrested.

The statement added that the suspected criminals apprehended at Medile Quarters had stolen the motorcycle while the owner was praying in a mosque in the area.

According to the statement, luck ran out of them as they were all arrested and immediately taken to the Civil Defence office.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include a Lifan motorcycle and a Vespa, the statement added.

The statement signed by SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the spokesman of the command, said investigations into the case had been concluded and the suspects have been charged to court.
