NSCDC arrests 8 suspected vandals

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi State has paraded eight suspects, including a 15-year-old boy, for allegedly vandalising electrical equipment belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

The state Commander, Everestus Obiyo, said the suspects were arrested at Kotokarfe and Adankolo in collaboration with local vigilantes.

The suspects paraded are Abubakar Sadiq, Salifu Badamosi, Taibu Yusuf, Idris Sani, Balogun Samuel, Obinna Godwin, Babatunde Sunday and Abdulmumini Gimba.

Items recovered from the suspects according to him included ladders, aluminium cable conductor, J5 bus, knife, fuse, hack saw, among others.

Obiyo noted that the suspects admitted committing the crime during interrogation and would soon be charged to court.
