The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) has arrested a 25-year old ex-convict, Shamsu Salisu, for stealing two cellphones and tablet belonging to a corps member serving in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.
The corps spokesperson, Adamu Shehu, said the personnel of the corps went after the suspect following a complaint lodged by the victim.
He added that the suspect sneaked into the victim’s apartment in Marunjawa quarters of the metropolis while he was asleep and took away his two cellphones and a tablet device, adding that the value of the stolen items put together was N73,000.
Shehu said “The 25 year old suspect was an ex-convict. We got him arrested again after he stole a Techno Tablet valued at N25,000 and two cellphones, Techno P4 valued at N16,000 and smart phone valued at N 32,000. We nabbed him through the cooperation of network providers.”
According to him, the suspect had since confessed to the crime, saying he was once sentenced to two months imprisonment in Dutse prison for committing similar offence.
He said as soon as investigation was completed the suspect would be arraigned for justice to take its course.
