A 26-year-old man, Kamaldin Abu Sabo, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to kill his mother in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The Commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in the state, Mahmud Gidado Fari said, “The mother of Kamaldin reported that her own son has been saying that he would kill her for no reason, that is why we have arrested him and would soon charge him to court.”
The suspect, a tailor, however denied the allegation. “I do not agree with the statement of the NSCDC that my mother reported me, it was my elder brother who reported me to the NSCDC,” he added.
He said he was not a cultist, when asked why he has a tattoo of a skull on his right arm, he said, “I had the tattoo because I like it, but I am not a cultist.”
Another suspect, Muhammad Ibrahim, said he was arrested because his friends dropped his phone at the scene of a crime. “I am from Keana, I don’t know how old I am. I was arrested because some of my friends borrowed my GSM handset to copy some songs, but I was arrested because they went and snatched a motorcycle and dropped my handset at the scene.”
