The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has apprehended one Musa Yahuza for allegedly defiling a 4-year-old girl in Lafia, the state capital.
Confirming the incident to Daily Trust on Sunday, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Jerry Victor, said the suspect was arrested following a complaint laid by the mother of the victim.
“The mother of the little girl discovered blood stain on her pant when she was trying to bath her. She quickly took her back to the room and asked her about it and she explained that it was Musa who told her to lie down on the bed while they were playing,” he said.
In an interview with our correspondent shortly after he was paraded, the suspect refuted the allegation, adding that the mother of the girl was lying against him to ensure that he was imprisoned.
The PRO, however, urged parents and guardians to always monitor the movement of their children and wards with keen interest, while calling on youths in the state to shun all forms of criminality as the command would not relent in arresting and prosecuting criminal elements who are bent on disturbing the peace of residents of the state.
